Projektgruppe Geometry Processing (BA-INF 051, 9LP)
Description
Geometry Processing beschäftigt sich mit der Darstellung und Verarbeitung von geometrischen, oft 3-dimensionalen Information, zum Beispiel die Analyse oder Manipulation eines 3D Scans eines Raums. Dabei müssen oft Kompromisse zwischen Qualität, mathematischer Präzision und Effizienz der Verfahren getroffen werden.
In dieser Projektgruppe werden aktuelle Themen aus dem Gebiet Geometry Processing behandelt. Teilnehmer bekommen ein Thema in Zusammenhang mit einer oder mehreren aktuellen Publikationen, die sie implementieren und danach einen Vortrag darüber halten sollen. Für jedes Thema übernimmt eine MitarbeiterIn der Geometry in Machine Learning Gruppe die Betreuung (ggf. nur auf Englisch). Die Vorträge finde am Ende des Semesters in einer Blockveranstaltung statt.

Participation
Die Einführungsveranstaltung (Englisch) findet am 14. April, 14:00 via zoom statt, Details in Basis. The projects can be done in group up to 3 or 4 people (more people will increase the expectations on the amount of work done) during the semester. The findings of the projects will be presented at the end of the semester. Participation in the final presentations of the course is mandatory.
